Polyisocyanates
Polyisocyanates are substances which contain an isocyanate group — N — С — О — ; the latter interreacting with the OH hydroxyl group forms an urethane group R-NHCOO-R. There are aromatic and aliphatic isocyanates which differ in their properties and scope of application.
Characteristic properties of polyurethane coatings are hardness, elasticity, quick drying, high adhesion, chemical resistance and water resistance. Polyurethane coatings based on aliphatic isocyanates are resistant to yellowing under the action of UV radiation.
